Secure Client Invite: Client Experience

How to add your exchange account to Cornix using the secure invite link

Written by Nikita Shirokov

Secure invite link allows you to connect your exchange account to your manager's Cornix account without sharing your keys directly.

Example link:

https://dashboard.cornix.io/external-invite/?client_token=390fe98a-16c6-4333-91d0-c0bc33a99bd0

When you open a secure invite link, the setup process may differ depending on the permissions assigned by the manager. Let’s go through the possible scenarios.

Invitation With No Access

If your invitation was set to No Access (without Read and Write permissions), you will be taken directly to the exchange connection flow. This invite type does not require creating a Cornix account.

Connect your exchange

Select your exchange:

Then, follow the instructions shown on the left side of the screen.

Most exchanges support the Quick Connect option (recommended) while others require manual API key creation.

Once you connect your exchange, you will see the following screen:

Once connected, the Asset Manager will be able to place trades on your behalf directly through your exchange account.

Note that you can revoke that access at any time by going into your exchange account -> opening the API Management section -> and deleting the relevant API key.

Invitation With Read or Read & Write Access

In case you received the secure invite link with Read or Read-Write permissions, the first step will be creating a sub-account on Cornix (or logging into an existing sub-account), and then connecting your exchange. It will allow you to monitor your trades (read) or edit them by yourself (write).

Create sub-account

Log in to an existing sub-account tied to this manager, or create a new one if you haven't yet:

Connect your exchange

Select your exchange:

Then, follow the instructions shown on the left side of the screen.

Most exchanges support the Quick Connect option (recommended) while others require manual API key creation.

Once you connect your exchange, you will see the screen with the "Continue to Cornix" button:

It will open the Cornix Dashboard, where you can:

  • Revoke API access from the Accounts section

  • Monitor your funds / positions from the Portfolio section

  • Monitor your on going trades and orders from the Trades section

  • Create and edit trades from the Trades section in case of Read & Write permissions

If you already have a Cornix account

If you are already logged in to another Cornix account or sub-account connected to another asset manager, you will be asked to switch accounts. The reason is that each secure invite link is tied to a specific manager's account. To use it, you must be logged in to the sub-account created for that manager.

Click the “Use a different account” button:

Then, follow the flow of sub-account creation/logging and exchange connection from above.
