Demo Accounts - Risk Free Trading

What are demo accounts and how to use the demo invironment

Written by Dor

The Cornix Demo Account is a fully simulated trading environment that mirrors our live platform. It includes real-time market data and complete functionality for all features.

The goal of the Demo Account is to let you explore the platform, learn the interface, and test new trading strategies without risking real money. You do not need to deposit real funds to use the demo environment, because everything is completely simulated.

Seamless Transition Between Demo and Real Environments

You can easily switch between your demo and real trading environments at any time. The toggle is available on any section of the Cornix web application.

Switch to Demo Mode

  1. Navigate to the top of your Cornix dashboard.

  2. Click the Demo Trading toggle to activate demo mode.

  3. A "Demo Trading" banner will appear at the top of the screen as a visual indicator that you are using simulated funds.

Create a Demo Exchange Account

You do not need to connect an exchange to create a demo account.

  1. Navigate to the exchange account creation section.

  2. Click the name of your desired exchange, exactly as if you were creating a regular live account.

  3. Cornix will instantly create a demo account with your selected virtual balance.

πŸ’‘ Note: From the demo account creation screen, you can also easily switch to a real trading environment and open a live trading account with just one click.

⚠️ Important: Please note: Cornix does not support connecting external exchange demo accounts or testnets (e.g., ByBit Demo, Binance Testnet) via API. To practice trading risk-free, you must use Cornix's built-in simulated demo accounts, which mimic real exchanges without requiring any API key connections.

Demo Trading Bots

All trading bots are fully available in the demo account. This includes the Signals Bot, DCA, Grid, and TradingView bots.

  1. Create and configure your desired Bot in the demo environment.

  2. Monitor the performance of your Bot using simulated funds.

  3. Once you are satisfied with the strategy, click the Copy button to duplicate the Bot directly into your real trading environment.

πŸ’‘ Note: You can also copy a live trading Bot from your real environment directly into the demo environment to safely test adjustments using the same copy method.

For TradingView Bots: When creating a demo TradingView Bot and connecting the Bot to your TradingView alerts, you must use the designated demo Webhook URL. Do not use the real environment URL to set the alerts you can follow this guide.

Demo Backtesting

While in Demo mode, you can create demo Backtesting runs to test your strategies across different exchanges and signal groups. There is no difference between live trading backtesting and demo trading backtesting.

πŸ’‘ Note: Demo Backtesting runs count toward your total backtesting plan usage.

  • Exchange fees are automatically included in the Demo Backtesting PnL (Profit and Loss) calculations.

  • For Inverse exchanges, only Bitget Inverse will be calculated with fees. Other Inverse exchanges will not include fees in the PnL calculation.

Marketplace

The Marketplace functions identically to the real trading environment. All tools, features, and settings in the Marketplace are fully operational.

If you subscribe to a free channel or start a free trial for a channel through the Marketplace, that channel's subscription will automatically apply to both the demo and live trading environments. The trial period begins the exact moment you click subscribe.

My Groups

Navigate to the My Groups page within Demo Trading to view the groups you are currently a part of.

Switch Back to Real Trading

  1. Navigate to the top of your screen.

  2. Click the Live Trading/Demo Trading toggle to turn off demo mode.

  3. The Demo Trading banner will disappear from your screen. You can now resume trading with your live account.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why am I unable to connect my ByBit Demo or Binance Testnet API keys? Cornix does not support connecting external exchange demo accounts or testnets via API. If you attempt to connect a third-party testnet API, it will fail. Instead, you must use Cornix's built-in simulated demo accounts, which handle the simulation automatically without requiring you to generate or connect any API keys.

Why is the "One Click Follow" button not working for my Demo account? The "One Click Follow" button is exclusively available for live trading. To follow signal channels using your demo accounts, you must use a fully automated demo Signals Bot instead.
